Tony Floyd is one of Melbourne and for that matter, one Australia’s busiest drummers.

His playing is steeped in the traditions of the past masters, yet has a completely contemporary feel and his rhythmic creativity is nothing short of brilliant.
Tony’s musical breadth spans pretty much the entire spectrum.

He can be heard on any given night in his home town of Melbourne playing with jazz greats such as James Sherlock or in his funky, horn based groove outfit, Dodge. Tony is equally at home on a stage playing bigger rock shows with Aussie Icons Men At Work, or backing talented pop artists such as Missy Higgins.

Tony was also a founding member of the very successful group, Things Of Stone And Wood.

Jazz, Rock, Funk, Pop, Latin, you name it… Tony has probably done it!

He is also a great educator. Tony teaches the fine art of drumming to many of Melbourne’s up and coming drummers, at both Box Hill Technical College and at Victoria’s College Of The Arts.
